All Saints Music Ministries is an exciting program that offers opportunities of service for ages ranging from kindergarten through adults. Throughout history, music has provided Christians with a wonderful means of expressing their faith. The choir experience includes the learning of the great hymns and anthems of the Church, skills in singing and music-reading, learning more about the liturgy of the Church, fellowship activities and service opportunities. By sharing of our time and talents, others may be inspired in worshipping God. Each of the choirs welcomes new members, whether experienced or beginners. There are no auditions for membership, and the only qualification is a true desire to be of service to God, the Church, and the community. As we continue to grow, see how you can make a difference in the worship life of your parish - and remember: Those who sing, pray twice!!!
All Saints Parish Choir is a large choral ensemble of 70+ that sings a wide, traditional range of musical styles from Gregorian Chant to music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods as well as music from various modern, contemporary sources. The Parish Choir sings each week at the 10:30 AM Mass. Rehearsals are Thursday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the Music Suite. No audition is required.
Schola Cantorum is a semi-professional ensemble numbering 30+ that also sings a wide range of musical styles. Much emphasis is placed on a capella singing and chamber music. Schola Cantorum sings each week at the 8:45 AM Mass. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the Music Suite. Music reading skills and choral experience are welcomed.
Festival Choir derives its name from the word “fête” or “feast” day. This ensemble is formed by combining the Parish Choir and the Schola Cantorum to form one large choir which generally performs on major Feast Days, the annual Mass of Remembrance, Family Festival of Carols, Community Choral Events (Light Up Dunwoody, 4th of July Celebration), and in the performance of Sacred Choral Masterworks in concert with orchestra---Handel’s Messiah, the Faure and Rutter Requiems.
Resurrection Choir is an ensemble numbering 40+ that works closely with the All Saints Bereavement Ministry. The choir is made up of choristers who are available during the day to sing at Funeral/Memorial Masses in our parish. There is a 45 minute rehearsal before each Mass. This choir is truly a heart-felt ministry that demonstrates the power of music to lift the human spirit. This highly successful ensemble has a standard repertoire that is learned in a workshop setting.
Cantors lead the congregation in singing hymns and parts of the Mass when a choir is not present and throughout the summer. Excellent music reading skills and good vocal production required.
